British Airways offers several non-stop services from London Heathrow each week, taking around eight and a half hours. Connections from around the UK to London make for easy access to these flights.

You can also reach Entebbe with connecting flights via Istanbul with Turkish Airlines, Addis Ababa with Ethiopian Air, Paris with Air France, Frankfurt with Lufthansa, Dubai with Emirates and Doha with Qatar Airways. Several of these offer regional departures in addition to London.  Connecting flights take upwards of around 10 hours.

Getting to and from the Airport:

Uganda is easy to reach by plane, with direct flights to Entebbe International Airport (EBB) from London Heathrow (LHR). The airport is located beside the historical Lake Victoria, around 25 miles out of the capital of Kampala. Hotels in Kampala are easy to reach using public transport.

When you book cheap flights to Entebbe you can also fly onwards to Arua Airport (RUA), Moyo Airport (OYG) and Gulu Airport (ULU), which are all in the north-west of Uganda.

To get to and from the airports and around Uganda in general, choose from a traditional bus or the more comfortable taxi buses – a type of minibus known as a "Matatu". They are an ideal way to get around in a cheapest way. Car hire is another option, although ensure you have an international driving license if renting a vehicle yourself, or get one with a driver included.
Many hotels also offer a shuttle bus service as well in order to travel inside Uganda.

There are hotels to suit all budgets in Uganda. In the cities, the choice ranges from budget, hostel-style hotels to palaces of elegance and opulence. In rural areas, you’ll find beautiful colonial-style lodges, as well as safari lodges amid the mountains and jungles.

The capital city of Kampala is a fascinating mixture of old and new. Visit the Kibuli Mosque, browse Nakasero Market or take a trip out to Lake Victoria. This lake, the largest in Africa, is regarded as the source of the Nile and is dotted with tiny islands.

The river flows out at Jinja, making it a great place for white-water rafting. The river also has several spectacular waterfalls, including the Murchison Falls. The Owen and Bujagali Falls have been submerged by the Owen Falls and Bujagali Dams, however, the Sipi Falls at Kapchorwa are a popular destination, famed for their beauty and tranquility.



Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale is a truly idyllic setting, featuring terraced hillsides and secret bays. Try kayaking and canoeing in this legendary beauty spot or simply relax in the enchanting surroundings.
